Spaghetti Bolognese
Since moving into my new apartment I
have had to learn to cook for myself, since I don’t have da mammy to
cook for me anymore. I was wondering at first if I would be able to
cook a decent meal. Well I did and I have to say that it was pretty
nice. I cooked some of it for my sister also and she liked it too.
You probably guessed at this stage what
I cooked, you know, the big title at the top of the post. Yes
spaghetti bolognese. It was quite simple, actually. The mince meat
was the part that took it the longest. If you are interested in
cooking spaghetti bolognese for yourself, you can follow the
instructions below. It was just the basic recipe, if you want to add
any vegtables or anything in the mean time that is completely up to
you.
The Mince Meat:
The part that took the longest to cook
was the mince meat, so I started with placing the mince meat in the
pot first. I set the ring to 3 and let the mince meat start to cook.
While the mince meat is cooking the juices will start to flow out of
the meat, this is the fat and can be drained from the pot later. It
would depend on your tatse wiether you wanted to leave the jucies in,
but it is healthier to remove it, which is wat I did. Keep cooking
the mince meat until all of it is brown. Keep stirring the mince
while it is cooking. It would normally take from 30 to 45 mins to
cook, but I left it simmering in the pot for a bit longer to make
sure that it was cooked thoroughly.
The Spaghettii:
The spaghetti was simple. Fill a pot
with water and boil it, place your spaghetti in the pot and let it
boil. The spaghetti will start to get soft and you will find it
easier to stir it. As it softens the spaghetti will start to stick to
the pot, to trya nd prevent this keep stirring it. It will take
approxametly 20 – 25 minutes for the spaghetti to be right.
The Bolognese Sauce:
Yet again another simple step. Mix the
sauce in with the mince meat and stir until all of the mince is
covered in the sauce. The sauce won’t take long to get to the right
temperature with the mince being cooked already and the temperature
in the pot already being warm.
Well that’s how I made it. It was
really nice, if I do say so myself. I placed the plates in a the oven
for a few mins before serving so that the plates where not cold and
caused the dinner to get cold faster.
